History of the Mill

 

“The first grist mill in Auburn Township was built by James Sims, and stood on the north part of the Wineman farms, east of the present village of Auburn”

 

The next paragraphs elaborate specifically on water-grist mills, so in the author’s opinion this may well have been a wind-powered mill.
